UV filters are essential for the proper clean and care of camera lenses. As well as filtering out UV light, which helps to provide haze-free higher contrast images, a UV filter can be mounted on the front of your lens to protect it from dust, dirt and scratches – we cover this in our lens filter buying guide. These new Hoya UX UV filters feature a water repellent coating, which makes it easier to clean off smudges and fingerprints from the surface of the filter. This is in addition to the anti-reflective coating and slim profile of the filter.
