A standard zoom lens for APS-C format DSLRs, the Sigma 17-70mm f2.8-4 incorporates a versatile zoom range and reliable performance, in a lightweight body. The zoom range covers an equivalent of 27.2-112mm, which means it is just as competent as framing wide landscapes, as it is head and shoulder portraits. Throughout the zoom a respectable maximum aperture of f2.8-4 is available, allowing for some degree of subject isolation and low-light shooting. The handheld shooting performance is really taken care of by the Optical Stabiliser, however, which drastically reduces camera shake, to permit you to pay blur no mind as you shoot.
